Role: Lead Product UX designer
The Context
ProVida AFP its an administrator of retirement funds in Chile, part of Metlife Global brand. As part of Globant’s team that was hired to augment the in-house team we work together as one unit towards challenges and defined goals.
The Challenge
As a team we faced the challenge of simplifying complex financial information for individuals lacking financial expertise. Understanding the difficulties faced by users with limited financial knowledge was crucial. Our main objective was to demystify this complexity, ensuring information accessibility and empowering users to make well-informed decisions through a friction-less user experience.
Solving the user problem
Struggle to comprehend complex financial information due to a lack of financial education, hindering their ability to make informed decisions.
Methodologies & responsibilities
Collaborated on features refinement (Grooming) with PO and Development team to prioritize backlog items.
Spearheaded scope UX planning to create a roadmap for user experience improvements.
Aligned with offshore teams to clarify flow and design deliverables, ensuring seamless development hand-offs.
Co-worked with UI team members to design new interfaces and components.
Co-worked in sessions with UX team members to produce cohesive design proposals grounded in UX research and business objectives.
Worked on UX writing to articulate user-friendly text within the app interface.
Performed Design QA on the developed app to maintain high-quality visual and functional standards.
Planned and conducted remote User Testing sessions to validate design choices and improve user engagement.
The solution
A hybrid iOS and Android mobile app was developed to enable users to learn about their retirement savings, simulate their future retirement amount, and perform various actions such as changing or distributing funds, making withdrawals, or switching providers.
Key takeaways
We used a User centered approach that reduced re processing requirements by 80% compared to previous frameworks the client used.
The results of the project had a huge impact on the Net Promoter Score (NPS) which was increased by 30 Points in the first 6 months after launch.
We implemented multiple Design Thinking methodologies to overcome the user challenges. Also a Lean UX approach to improve the internal handoff and communication.
